Iron based comb branched butadiene rubber will be rapidly applied

On September 1, the Information Office of the Shandong Provincial Government of China held a press conference to introduce the transformation of scientific and technological achievements in Shandong.

At the meeting, Lu Xuefeng, president of Shandong Energy Research Institute, introduced in detail the iron-based comb-branched butadiene rubber. He said that this achievement is expected to become the "first" new bulk synthetic rubber variety independently developed by China, and provide important scientific and technological support for the high-quality development of the tire rubber new material industry.

It is understood that the new material for the catalytic polymerization of iron-based combed butadiene rubber was created by the Shandong Energy Research Institute.

Lu Xuefeng said that taking ordinary vehicles as an example, the fuel consumption of traditional tires is 7 liters per 100 kilometers; after using new material tires, the fuel consumption will be reduced to less than 6.5 liters, giving them a longer cruising range.

In the next step, they will promote cooperation with leading refining and chemical companies to implement an industrial demonstration with an annual output of 100,000 tons in Shandong, and strive to promote it nationwide to reach a scale of one million tons per year. In terms of rubber applications, we will strengthen promotion and application in the province and the domestic tire industry.
