WANLI Tire overseas factory site selection
On October 13, Cambodia hosted the 19th Government and Private Business Forum.
Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet revealed at the event that Wanli Tire has decided to invest in Cambodia to build a factory. The total investment of the project is as high as $500 million (about 3.63 billion yuan).
According to reports, the Cambodia factory of Wanli Tire will be built in two phases. The first phase of the investment of $300 million, the second phase of investment of $200 million. This project will be located in Sihanoukville Province or Svay Rieng Province. As early as 2017, Wanli Tire began to lay out overseas factories. Plans to invest in a factory in the United States have been put on hold indefinitely.
In May this year, Wang Song, chairman of Wanli Tire, led a delegation to Cambodia. On October 21, Sun Chanto, Deputy Prime Minister of Cambodia, visited its parent company Guangzhou Industrial Control Group in China. Subsequently, Wanli Tire announced that it would study the feasibility of setting up a factory in Cambodia.
Hun Manet also mentioned that currently, there are three tire factories in operation in Cambodia.
One plant plans to invest an additional $200 million to expand capacity. He encouraged tyre factories to process locally and promote the development of Cambodia's processing industry.
