Tire export growth in Belt and Road countries

In recent years, as the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) continues to advance, the demand for tire products from participating countries has been on the rise, leading to robust growth in Fujian Province's tire exports. According to recent data, in the first eight months of this year, the total export value of tires from Fujian Province reached 3.61 billion yuan, marking a year-on-year increase of 6.3%, sustaining a steady growth trend.

Among these, the total value of tire exports to Belt and Road countries amounted to 2.64 billion yuan, representing an 8.4% year-on-year increase and accounting for 73.1% of Fujian’s total tire exports during the same period. Export performance to countries such as the UAE, Vietnam, and Serbia was particularly impressive, with year-on-year growth of 142.9%, 47%, and 184.2%, respectively, demonstrating the market opportunities brought by the BRI.

Local companies, including Xiamen Cheng Shin Rubber, Giti Tire Fujian, and Hiaan Rubber, have all secured significant foreign trade orders, expanding their business to more Belt and Road countries and regions. To meet the growing demand for foreign trade, local customs authorities have actively promoted expedited customs clearance policies, simplifying procedures and improving efficiency, further facilitating smooth export operations and injecting momentum into the steady growth of foreign trade.

Among these companies, Fujian Jianxin Tire Co., Ltd. has particularly stood out. A company representative mentioned that, riding the wave of the Belt and Road Initiative, they have been actively exploring markets along the route and expanding their overseas sales network. In the first eight months of this year, the company's export value exceeded 200 million yuan, with over 90% of its products exported to Belt and Road countries, showcasing the international competitiveness and influence of Fujian's tire enterprises.

As the Belt and Road Initiative continues to deepen, Fujian tire companies are expected to seize more development opportunities, leveraging technological innovation and market expansion to further increase their share in the international market, contributing to the growing global reputation of Chinese manufacturing.
